This directorycontains files needed by users upgrading from Debian 0.93R6 (libc4 a.out) to the current version of Debian. There are two ways to upgrade: One is the manual way, installing the packages by hand. Instructions are in upgrade_manual.doc. You will also need the files UpGrade, base_list-1.1, and dpkg-1.1.5aout.deb. The second way uses dselect to upgrade all the packages en masse. Instructions are in upgrade_dselect.doc. You will also need dpkg_1.2.6.deb. Note that the dpkgs in this directory are a.out. The ones in the unstable and stable trees are ELF. The files DoList, base.list-1.2, and devel.list-1.2, are for upgrading 1.1 systems to 1.2.
